TUI NA

“Tui Na,” which literally translates as “push-grasp,” is a rigorous, moving style of acupressure massage. It is most comparable to a deep tissue massage. Some of the techniques involve rolling, kneading, pressing, rubbing and range of motion. Tui Na is based on the Traditional Chinese Medical theory of channels and collaterals and the flow of the Qi. Pain and disease result from blockages of Qi and blood in the body. Through the application of massage and manipulation techniques, Tui Na seeks to restore a more harmonious flow of Qi energy through the system, allowing the body to naturally heal itself. It is intended to be therapeutic for a wide array of ailments, both musculoskeletal and otherwise.
