SEASONAL TREATMENTS

How is your acupuncture session different in the summer?

More Heart and Small Intestine points. Summer is the season when the energy of the Heart and Small Intestine channels upsurges, so imbalances in these channels also emerge more at this time of year. These include insomnia, anxiety, canker sores, heart palpitations, disturbing dreams, mental restlessness, irritability, chest oppression, red face, dark urine or frequent, burning urination.

More calming points. The Heart rules our spirit, which is easily agitated by the summer heat. We may also weave energy healing into your session to balance your spirit.

Shorter treatments. Summer is a Yang season, which indicates a time of more motion and activity. This affects our Qi circulation, and shorter treatments are appropriate at this time (25-30 minutes).

Clearing heat. The Heat outside produces Fire in your body, which can manifest as a myriad of symptoms. Fire is the pathogen of summer and must be mitigated.

Beat the heat and balance your Heart channel (and your whole mind-body-spirit).
